Check out the percentages of students receiving awards...
Recently, Tallassee High School held an awards day for the first nine week grading period. The awards fell into two categories: grades and attendance. Thirty-five percent of students at the high school made one of the honor rolls for making As, Bs, or a combination of the two. The percentages for the classes break down as follows: 9th grade - 5.5% made all As, 17.8% made A/B Honor Roll, and .6% made all Bs; 10th grade - 10.6% made all As, 28% made A/B Honor Roll, and .8% made all Bs; 11th grade - 7.1% made all As, 29.5% made A/B Honor Roll, and .6% made all Bs; 12th grade - 19.1% made all As, 19.9% made all Bs, and 39% made A/B Honor Roll. The senior class leads the percentage of total awards with 41.1% of the class garnering awards. Typically, the grades trend upwards from the 9th grade, which had a total of 23.9% receiving awards.
One goal of this year's administration is to see all students striving to make As and Bs. One way to make that a more plausible reality is for the attendance rates to increase. Only 15% (90 students) of the students attending the high school received awards for perfect attendance. Imagine what the percentages of As and Bs could be if this number increased. Let's work together to make success for more of our students a reality. Congratulations to all who received awards this term!
